A Birmingham Original

Founded in 2011 by a group of friends with a shared passion for homebrewing, Cahaba Brewing Company has grown from a small garage project into one of Alabama’s most iconic craft beer destinations.

In 2016, we moved to our current home in the historic Continental Gin Complex in Avondale. This 51,000-square-foot facility allows us to brew over 2,000 barrels of beer annually while providing a massive, industrial-chic space for our community to gather. Named after the Cahaba River—the longest free-flowing river in Alabama—we are dedicated to crafting liquid tributes to the place we call home.

Flagship Favorites:

• American Blonde: Our most popular brew. A light, crisp, and refreshing ale with a delicate malt sweetness.
• Oka Uba IPA: A nod to the indigenous name for the Cahaba River. This IPA is hop-forward with tropical fruit notes and a clean finish.
• Lager: A classic, easy-drinking beer perfect for Alabama summers.
• Pale Ale: Balanced and approachable, featuring a blend of American hops.

Specialty Series:

• The Proximity Series: Limited-batch brews featuring hyper-local ingredients sourced from Alabama farms.
• Bourbon Barrel Aged: Rich, robust stouts and ales aged to perfection.

More Than Just a Brewery

Our 6,000-square-foot taproom and spacious outdoor patio are designed for community. Whether you’re here for “Liquid Lunch,” a post-work pint, or a Saturday hangout, we have plenty of room for you.

• Dog Friendly: We are one of the most dog-friendly spots in town! Leashed pups are welcome both inside the taproom and on the patio.
• The Current: Hungry? Grab a bite at The Current, our on-site permanent food truck serving up elevated pub grub, burgers, and shareables.
• Games & Fun: Challenge your friends to a game of Skee-Ball, cornhole, or darts while you sip.
• Sports: With massive TVs throughout the taproom, we are your headquarters for college football Saturdays and major sporting events.
